Joshua Perry

Joshua is currently working as the Senior Database Developer at Blain's in Janesville, Wisconsin. In the past, he has worked at several Fortune 500 companies, mid-size local companies, a large public university, and state government. He has worked with just about any platform you can think of including web, client server, mainframe, and midrange, including Hyper-V, VMWare, MVS, VM, UNIX, Windows, and Linux. He is also well-versed in several programming and scripting languages including T-SQL, VB, C#, F#, C, Scheme, Python, PL/SQL, Java, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and Powershell. Joshua is a subject matter expert and experienced architect for the Microsoft development stack including SQL Server, SharePoint, Exchange, Lync, IIS, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server. While he currently spends most of his time mentoring others, Joshua still loves to get his hands dirty and dig into the platform and code.

When not at work, Joshua enjoys playing guitar and bass on the stage, and golfing, hunting, and fishing as the weather allows. He spends as much time as possible with his lovely wife, Jennifer. He also spends time trying to beat his sons on the XBOX, and trying to do a good job pretending to know what a Shopkin is with his daughters.

Bill Gates

Did you know that Bill's mug shot from his arrest in 1977 is the default image for contacts in Outlook and SharePoint 2010? Bad programmer!

Mission Statement

To educate the next generation of IT professionals...

...by teaching about abstraction and how strings do not truly exist.

...by showing that technology skills are useless if you don't know what problem you are trying to solve.

...by mentoring on how to think and solve problems rather than just providing the answers.

...by building relationships that last beyond the current job, project, or engagement.
